For a proper home cinema experience the Sony Receiver with 1080 HD and 24p

There’s little question that this item can offer you wonderful sound connected up to the right speakers.

It sounds great ( I am employing a Q Acoustics Q-AV system ). The remote is a pleasant thing also, better than the other Sony elements I have. The 2 niggles I have is it’s quite ( make that extremely ) difficult to set-up and operate.

Which is partially because it’s so highly featured I believe. The other ( which is barely more than a niggle ) is that the only EQ fine-tuning control is a basic Bass-Treble, like you’d get on an inexpensive automobile stereo. Sure there’s the common raft of Hall, Jazz Club reverb effects, which you may cycle thru once then never select again, but if you’d like to dial out a slight rudeness around 3kHz due to some vocal sybillance on a specific source ( plenty of the Freeview stuff is a bit coarse, I find ), you are stuffed. Which I had thought you might. Should have read the manual more intensively I imagine – but then that links back to the 1st point. I am not sure I am getting the very best of this amp, but I’ve heard some extremely nice audio from it.

Picture also appears superb, better than going right into the Television ( PS3 ), but I am not so qualified to judge that ( I once used to be an audio engineer for Harman Kardon in a previous life ). Do not get me wrong, I’m super happy with it, just could be more interesting still.
